Tomihiko Morimi's award winning novel Yoru wa Mijikashi Aruke-yo Otome will be adapted into a manga in the upcoming issue of Zoukan Ace Assault (July 10th). The manga will be drawn by Ranmaru Kotone.

Yoru wa Mijikashi Aruke-yo Otome (Walk, Girls, Walk as the Night Is Short) was released by Kadokawa Shoten in November 2006, and was awarded the 20th Yamamoto Shugoro Prize in 2007.

According to a Super Dash Bunko advertisement that appeared in Weekly Shounen Jump No. 32 (7/9), Katayama Kentarou (Author) and Yamamoto Yamato (Illustrator)'s light novel series Kure-nai will be adapted into a manga.

The new manga will start in the first issue Shueisha's new magazine Jump Square (11/2). A preview of the manga will appear in Akamaru Jump (on sale in August).

topThe first issue of Hobby Japan's "new" novel magazine Charano! has been released. A manga adaptation of Kujibiki Yuusha-sama by Shimizu Fumika (author) and Ushiki Yoshitaka (illustrator) began serialization in this issue. The new manga is titled Kujibiki Sisters and is drawn by the same illustrator of the light novel.

According to Lucky Star's official anime website, a light novel adaptation of Kagami Yoshimizu's 4-panel manga Lucky Star will be released on September 1st under Kadokawa's Sneaker Bunko label. The light novel will be titled Lucky???Star Lucky???Star Satsujin Jiken and will be authored by Touka Takei.

Tokyograph reports that a 2-part television drama of Kenji Nakazawa's Barefoot Gen will be aired on August 10-11 in Japan:

Kiichi Nakai and Yuriko Ishida will star in the drama as the parents of the young boy Gen. The role of Gen will be played by 10-year-old Ren Kobayashi, who was chosen from a pool of 80 candidates.

topDengeki Online and Ultimatum Talk report that ToraDora! and Ookami to Koushinryou, two light novel series published under MediaWork's Dengeki Bunko label, will be adapted into manga.

ToraDora! will be drawn by Zekkyou and will begin serialization in the September issue of Dengeki Comic Gao! (July 27), while Ookami to Koushinryou will be drawn by Koume Keito and will serialize in Dengeki Maoh starting with the November issue (September 27).
