Jump Square, the New Magazine That Will Replace Monthly Shonen Jump

When Shueisha announced in February the suspension of Monthly Shonen Jump, it was also mentioned that a new magazine will be created to take Monthly Jump's place. According to Weekly Jump Readers' Journal, the new magazine will be called Jump Square (Jump SQ). The first issue will be release on November 2nd, and will follow a monthly release schedule with new issues released on the 4th of every month.

According to past letters from Monthly Jump's editorial department, Claymore, Gag Manga Biyori, Rosario + Vampire and Tegami Bachi will eventually be serialized in Jump Square. Also Mahou Tsukai Kurohime will be serialized on the website of Jump Square, while the author of Kurohime will serialize a new manga on Jump Square.

Also mentioned in Weekly Jump's post:

  • A new series written by Masanori Morita and drawn by Takeshi Obata.
  • A Fujiko Fujio series (mangaka of Doraemon), by Kaidô Hiroyuki and Kazu Hajime.
  • Claymore, Tegami Bachi, Gag Manga Biyori, Kurohime, Rosario to Vampire & Embalming (by Nobuhiro Watsuki)
  • A novel by Katayama Kentaro & Yamamoto Yamato entitled Denbateki na Kanojo.

The future URL of Jump SQ will be http://jumpsq.shueisha.co.jp/.

Note so far there has been no official confirmation from Shueisha regarding the new magazine.
