According to Shueisha, with the release of volume 4, the tankoubon sales of Kentaro Yabuki's To-LOVE-Ru (currently serialized in Weekly Jump) has official crossed over the 1,000,000 mark.

Although some manga series will be temporarily serialized in Shonen Jump after Monthly Shonen Jump cease publication, Mahou Tsukai Kurohime will be serialized on the website of the "new magazine" (that will replace Monthly Jump), and the author of Kurohime will serialize a new manga on the "new magazine."

After almost a year of hiatus, Masakazu Katsura's Zetman will finally resume serialization in the upcoming issue of Young Jump.

According to Shueisha, Ikeda Akihisa's Rosario + Vampire will be adapted into an anime. According to ANN, the official announcement of the anime adaptation will be made in the July issue of Monthly Shonen Jump.

According to a poster from the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, Kyosuke Usuta's Pyuu to Fuku! Jaguar will be adapted into a live-action movie sometime next year. Also an anime series is being planned, which will be distributed through the use of DVD.

According to Moon Phase, Katayama Kentarou (Author) and Yamamoto Yamato (Illustrator)'s light novel series Kure-nai will be adapted into an anime. Kure-nai is currently published under Shueisha's shounen light novel label Super Dash Bunko.

Sho-ComiAccording to Hana to Yume's official website, a new manga from Natsuki Takaya, creator of Fruits Basket, will debut in Hana to Yume issue 13, on sale June 5th. The new manga, titled Hoshi wa Utau (Stars Sing), will be a romance story. The texts beside the title reads: "The stray stars' one-sided love romance."

Also, according to this post, a new series titled Peacemaker by Ryoji Minagawa (Spriggan, Project ARMS) will begin serialization in the July issue of Ultra Jump, on sale June 19th.

Shueisha will be releasing an add-on issue to its shojo magazine Cobalt on June 18th titled Bessatsu Cobalt. The magazine will be sold for 680 yen, and is said to be a light novel magazine aimed at maidens (otome).

Death Note is banned in Beijing, Shueisha comments that "All of them are pirated anyways."

On the 16th, a Chinese/English newspaper China Daily reported that "Beijing local government has ordered to retrieve Death Note from its publisher Hualing Publishing due to its bad effect on juvenile - the manga is causing students to neglect their study by indulging themselves in Death Note."

Original Story MangaCurrently a majority of the original Chinese manga are composed of 4-panel comics and short stories. To promote original story-oriented manga, Zhejiang Gongshang University's Japanese Anime and Manga Cultural Research Group has organized the 1st Story-Oriented Original Manga Competition.

The competition, supported by Shueisha and many Chinese anime news websites and media, accepts any original manga between 10-45 pages long. The deadline is September 9th, winners will be announced in October.
