Shockpop World Manga Digest to debut in 2008

NOTTINGHAM, NH, USA - September 11, 2007 - Boombox Media is now accepting submissions for the premiere volume of Shockpop World Manga Digest. This unique anthology is a collection of genre-blending stories all united by one common theme---the style of writing and art have been influenced by Japanese manga (comics) and anime (animation). Some of the contributing artists have also mentioned the influences of manhwa (Korean comics) and manhua (Chinese comics, mainly produced in Hong Kong and Thailand).

The publisher is looking for stories between 1-20 pages in length with completed artwork, but they will help with lettering. All stories must be self-contained---no serialized strips. Previously published material (including webcomics) is acceptable as long as the creators retain publishing rights, but this must be noted when submitting. Payment is possible, based on sales of the book.

So there's no pay up front? How do you divvy out a royalty on anthology work? Usually anthology work is paid up front, because it's short work--and he's not asking for serials, so there's no collection to be gathered for a single release either. :(

but at the closer is says, "the company distributes its graphic novels, manga digests, and collectable art books to traditional booksellers, comic book specialty shops, college bookstores, and online retailers throughout the United States and the United Kingdom" So the all ready distribute manga digests--but this is their premiere volume? --and they distribute to many places, but do these place actually buy what they're offering to distribute?
