The 2006 World Manga Exhibition, which is taking place in the newly open Kyoto International Manga Museum from 11/25/2006 to 1/14/2007, showcases over 1,000 manga from around the world.

On December 11th the exhibition announced that over ten thousand admission tickets have been sold. As a special treat, the 10,000th visitor received a free ticket to the exhibition.

Celebrate Takumi-kun Series' 15th anniversary, series author Shinobu Goto and artist Kazumi Ooya held an autograph session on December 3rd at Animate Yokohama.

Only those who bought or reserved both "Takumi-kun series Bara no Shita de - Natsu no Zanzou vol.3" (released on November 30th) and "Takumi-kun series Hana Chiru Yoru ni Kimi wo Omoeba" (released on December 1st) at Animate Ikebukuro or Animate Yokohama were allowed to attend on a first-come-first-ser

Ivrea Publishing has announced an event to commemorate the 40th edition of the magazine Lazer, one of the most well-known publications on anime and manga in Argentina. The event, called "Night Lazer," will take place in Buenos Aires on December 7th. The event will only open to people who are over 18 years old. The Ivrea website promises anime, music and cosplay at the event.

Javits Center in Manhattan on February 23-25, 2007, is poised to become a dominant player in the anime community. Two events will take place in Brazil in the beginning of December. Expo Anime Brazil will be held on December 3rd in S??o Paulo city. The biggest attraction of this year's show will be the appearance of Japonese singer Ayumi Miyazaki, who sang the themes of Digimon, Beat Hit!, The Last Element and Brave Heart.

Anime Weekend, which will take place on between December 2 - 3 in Porto Alegre city, will be attened by Ricardo Cruz, a member of the group JAM Project and singer of many Brazilian anime themes. Anime Weekend will also host the first "World Cosplay Summit Brazil" stage.

On September 29th, a celebration was held at an Italian restaurant in Tokyko for Hirohiko Araki celebrating his 25th year as a mangaka. Hirohiko Araki debuted in 1981 with the manga Buso Poker, he has since then created many works, one of the most well-known of which was JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, a long running shonen manga that's currently serialized in Ultra Jump (under the name Steel Ball Run).

One of the highlights during the celebration was "JoJo Gymnastics," during which Hirohiko Araki performed various scenes from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure with great enthusiasm. Below are a few shots taken during the show:

Otaku News has a report on the International Manga and Anime Festival (IMAF), which is currently underway and will run from November 10th to November 14th at County Hall near the London Eye in Westminster.

Opening times vary each day, so be sure to check to avoid dissapointment before going. The event schedule can be found in a 132KB MS Word document (web usability experts scream as it should be in HTML for everyone to read). It includes panels and workshops by author Paul Gravett, artists Sweatdrop Studios, international comic book creator Ilya and expert on traditonal culture Akemi.

The 2006 Virtual Beauty Expo will be held in the Kyoto Saga University of Arts this month. The exhibition will feature over 113 3D bishojo CG artworks from a group of 57 CG artists under the name "Group C."
