DMP's MySpace blog posts a reminder that Udon Entertainment has picked up Robot, an anthology by various manga artists lead by Range Murata. Robot was previously licensed by DMP, but was discontinued after three volumes. Volume 4 of Robot will be released in December.

According to DMP's latest blog post, due to licensing issues, future volumes of Robot will most likely not be released (originally announced at AX07):

Unfortunately, we had sad news that we announced previously at Anime Expo 2007. Due to some licensing issues, we will most likely not be seeing Robot Vol. 4 +. In a nutshell, it's pretty much stuck in "licensing hell".

We're very dissapointed in the news and apologize to all the fans of the series.

Anime! Anime! and PWCW report that Digital Manga Publishing has signed a new co-labeling contract with Japanese publishers Shinshokan, Oakla Shuppan and Taiyo Tosho:

All titles licensed by DMP from these publishers will carry the original Japanese publisher's logo as well as the DMP logo. "This has never been done within the manga industry [in the U.S.],” DMP president and CEO Hikaru Sasahara said.

ANN reports that Digital Manga will be releasing a book called the Pop Japan Travel: Essential Otaku Guide on August 15:

Based on the anime and manga tours of Japan that were pioneered by Pop Japan Travel, this English book will include maps and special features designed to help travelers.
