Icarus Blog reports that Diamond has announced the result of the 2006 Gem Awards, where retailers cast their vote based on "quality, creativity and sales performance" in the market.

Viz Media was picked for "Video Manufacturer of the Year" and "Manga Trade Paperback of the Year for Naruto volume 9." Also, Dark Horse receives the "Special Recognition of Achievement in Publishing" award.

After the bankruptcy of distributor Publishers Group West (PGW), former PGW client Dark Horse and Broccoli Books' have now found new distributors: Dark Horse distributions will now be handled by Diamond Book Distributors, while Broccoli Books will have its distribution handled by Perseus.

According to AoD, Dark Horse has confirmed that the release dates of Octopus Girl and Museum of Terror have been postponed indefinitely.

Dark Horse has announced that it has licensed the novel A Wind Named Amnesia by Hideyuki Kikuchi. Dark Horse's release will contain the original artworks from Yoshitaka Amano that were found in the first editions of the Japanese release.
