CAEAA: Last Week to Submit for Nomination for the 2007 Elans Video Game and Animation Categories

VANCOUVER August 24, 2007 - The 2nd Annual Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts (CAEAA), is reminding Video Game and Animation Companies around the world that their submissions must be in one week today Friday, August 31st for the 2007 Elans held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Friday, November 2nd, 2007 at The Centre in Vancouver for the Performing Arts.

While the Awards are primarily held for the globally-renowned work of Canadian companies, like the Oscars, the Elans now have International Categories to include accolade to every participating country around the world. "Outstanding Innovation in Gaming" (open to all companies including Canada), "International Game of the Year", "Best International Feature Length Animated Production", "Best International Animated Production (Television Series)" and "International Student of the Year Award" round out the International Categories added to the 2007 Elans.

The CAEAA Judicial Process is as follows:

  • Jury Panels consist of 5 Jurors per Panel.
  • Each Category has one Panel.
  • No Juror sits on more than one Panel.
  • Each Industry’s Panels consist of Jurors from within their Industry.
  • All Companies/Institutions providing Jurors may provide more than one.
  • No two representatives from one Company/Institution will be selected by the CAEAA to sit on the same Panel.
  • Every Juror must sign a non-conflict agreement to be approved by the CAEAA.
  • Each CAEAA Industry Category is juried by Panels from outside of Canada.
  • Each International Category is juried by Panels from within Canada.

The CAEAA along with their Event Partners Electronic Arts (EA), Autodesk/Annex Pro, N-GAGE by NOKIA, Ernst & Young and the British Columbia Provincial Government invite anyone working full time in the Animation or Video Game industry who would like to be a Judge for the 2007 Elans, please email the Producer, Holly Carinci, directly at holly@caeaa.com. Names of both the Judges and their Companies will be released but not the Category Panel on which they have been placed.

The four Final Nominees for each Category of the 2007 Elans will be announced at a press conference on Monday, October 1, 2007 at their Official Hotelier The Sutton Place Hotel, Vancouver (one of only two AAA Five Diamond Hotels in all of Canada)
