According to an announcement (PDF), as of issue 11 (11/25), Media Works's seinen manga anthology Dengeki Teioh will cease publication.

A trailer of the new Mushishi live-action film, starring Jo Odagiri and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo of AKIRA fame, is available on the film's official website (click the blue box to view the trailer).

Ken Akamatsu, mangaka of Love Hina and Negima!, attended a live-talk session on October 11th, held by ANIME KAI in Shinjuku LOFT/PLUS ONE from 7:30 pm to 11:40 pm. The official website of Shonen Gahosha's new magazine, Monthly Young King, has opened at www.shonengahosha.jp/monthlyyk/. The first issue of the magazine will be released on October 19th.

Together with Shonen Gahosha's other magazine, bi-weekly Young King, there are now two Young King magazines, one bi-weekly and the other monthly.

Japan E-book Initiative (EBI), Kyocera Communication (KCCS), and Singapore Kyocera Communication Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (KCAP) announced last month a partnership to distribute manga digitally overseas starting 9/19. KCCS and KCAP will be responsible for financial matters, advertising, and customer service. EBI will be in charge the software and the content.

According to ANS:

[Yoichi Takahashi] becomes the latest celebrity to be part of an ad campaign Toyota launched in April. Past stars in the commercial series include American actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
