Announced in Young Champion No. 12 (5/22), a new magazine from Akita Shoten called Young Champion Retsu will be released on 6/20. Young Champion Retsu will act as a special issue of Young Champion, and will be released bi-monthly (on the 3rd Thuesday) for 390 yen.

From Akita Shoten comes a new josei magazine titled "Cherry PINK." The first issue will be released on May 15th.

According to Weekly Shounen Jump's early sales information, Death Note (Story by Tsugumi Ooba, Art by Takeshi Obata) will be ending in Shounen Jump issue 24, on sale May 15th.

img20th Century Boys, the latest manga from Naoki Urasawa (mankaga of Monster, Pluto), has been serialized in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirit for 7 years. This month, without any announcements or promotion, the final chapter of 20th Century Boys was suddenly released in issue 21+22 of Big Comic Spirit.

While the ending may be a surprise to many, according to a note in the same issue of Big Comic Spirit, the next part of the series will resume in Spring 2007.

Last year, the free online monthly manga anthology Comic Seed! ceased publication after its publisher, Penguin Shobo, declared bankruptcy.

Now Futabasha plans to publish the magazine with the aid of a new business strategy. The first issue of the new Comic Seed! will be release on April 28th, with ten new series and several old series from the "old" Comic Seed. The second issue (5/31) will see the serialization of Kodomo no Jikan, the popular series by Kaworu Watashiyaka originally from Monthly Comic High.
