In its latest volume of Manga Curry no Maki, MangaCast's Jack interviews interviews Philip Brody, curator of the exhibition Tezuka: Marvel of Manga. The podcast also looks at Shueisha's new magazine Jump SQ, manga in the Philippines, manga cafe in Manila, and more.

ANS points out an Amazon.com has listed Osamu Tezuka's Dororo manga under Vertical. According to the listing, Dororo will be released next April.

A panel called Tezuka in the USA: A Manga Publishers' Forum will take place on August 16th (today!) at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco:

The panel will be moderated by Alvin Lu of VIZ Media (publisher of Tezuka's Phoenix), and will include speakers Anne Ishii of Vertical (publisher of Buddha), Carl Gustav Horn of Dark Horse (publisher of Astro Boy), and Ian Robertson of VIZ Media. Speakers will discuss the experience of bringing Japan's "God of Manga" to American shores and how Tezuka's influence continues to pervade the current manga boom in the US.

According to ANN, the excerpt from Osamu Tezuka's Princess Knight that will appear in Viz's Shojo Beat 2nd Anniversary issue will be the original Princess Knight that ran in the manga magazine Shojo Club from 1953 to 1956.

MangaCast reports a new Amazon Canada listing which reveals that MW (Pronounced "mu") by Osamu Tezuka has been licensed by Vertical.

In the comment section, Dirk Deppey from The Comics Journal confirms that both MW, the previously discovered Andromeda Stories, and The Guin Saga Manga: The Seven Magi by Keichiro Ryu have all been licensed by Vertical.

According to a press release (PDF), Sega Toys will release a limited edition (3,000 sets only) 200-volume miniature set of Osamu Tezuka's manga beginning January 27th. The manga set, 4.45 x 3.65 centimeters in size, will be sold for 73,500 yen.
