Adaptation

According to Comic High Magazine, Kirihara Izumi's Hitohira will be adapted into an anime TV series in 2007.

Shuiesha has recently announced the manga adaption of the XBox 360 RPG Blue Dragon. The new manga, called "Blue Dragon ST," will be drawn by Ami Shibata (Nangoku Shounen Papuwa-kun, Freeman Hero) and will begin serialization in the January issue of Monthly Shonen Jump, on sale December 16th.

Blue Dragon is a XBox 360 game developed by Mistwalker, under the direction of Hironobu Sakaguchi (father of the Final Fantasy series), and features artwork from Akira Toriyama.

According to the latest Weekly Jump Early Release Info, a new Bleach artbook will be released on December 4th.

Norihiro Yagi's Claymore (currently being serialized in Monthly Shonen Jump) will be adapted into an anime TV series. More information will be available in the December issue of Monthly Jump, on sale 11/6.

According to Weekly Jump, rumor has it that three current Weekly Jump series will be dropped soon, to be replaced by three new series:

Supposedly 2 established authors will be back (one of them has been out for a while, and the other only recently finished a series), and they will be accompanied by a 'newbie'.

According to Square Enix, Nagasarete Airantou by Takeshi Fujishiro will be adapted into an Anime in 2007. Nagasarete Airantou is currently serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan.

A trailer of the new Mushishi live-action film, starring Jo Odagiri and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo of AKIRA fame, is available on the film's official website (click the blue box to view the trailer).

The popular light novel from MediaWorks, Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, will once again be adapted into a manga, this time drawn by Kasumi Kirino. Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan was originally a light novel (written by Masaki Okayu and illustrated by Torishimo) serialized in Dengeki HP, it was later adapted into an anime, a manga, and a PS2 game.

The popular light novel by Keisuke Hasegawa, Shinigami no Ballad, will be adapted into a live-action drama. According to MediaWorks, more details will be posted soon.

The cast of the new Death Note anime will be announced in Weekly Shonen Jump No.40. Mamoru Miyano (Wolf's Rain, Ouran High School Host Club) will provide the voice casting for Light, while L will be voiced by Yamaguchi Kappei (Ranma, Inuyasha).

A novel version of Mitsuru Adachi's popular sports manga Rough will be released this summer in conjunction with the release of Rough the movie.

French movie website CinEmpire.com has posted 13 stills of the upcoming live-action movie Mushishi, based on the popular manga series of the same name.
