Adaptation

ANN is reporting that the Japanese company, Mangabank, will be adapting Hollywood movies such as Casablanca, Charade, Stagecoach, and Wuthering Heights into manga:

Each movie has been adapted into a 128-page manga, which will sell with a Japanese-subtitled DVD for 1,380 yen (about US$12.01). Acclaimed manga creator Kenshi Hirokane (Human Crossing, Buchou Shima Kosaku) is supervising the artists drawing the adaptations.

According to Moon Phase, a new manga titled Lucky Star: Pocket Travelers (based on Lucky Star's "Lucky Channel") by Akari Ryuryuu will begin serialization in the January issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace (11/26).

Canned Dogs reports that the online novel Sena★Sena will be adapted into a manga and begin serialization in the December issue of Comic Gum:

The manga will be illustrated by the pixel maritan artist (who also did the art for Fate/Tiger Colosseum)

Sena★Sena was previously introduced here. Also the picture in the post is from the online novel and not the manga, because I like co2a more than I like maritan.

topJump SQ's official website has announced that the Shiki horror fantasy novels by Fuyumi Ono will be adapted into a manga series by Ryu Fujisaki (mangaka of Hoshin Engi). The new manga will start in Jump Square's January 2008 issue (12/4).

The light novel Maid Deka by Yuji Hayami (author) and Kiyotaka Haimura (illustrator) will be adapted into an online manga. The new manga, drawn by Michiko Usami, will begin serialization in FlexComix Blood on October 12, 2007.

topAccording to volume 50 of the light novel magazine Dengeki hp, 3 light novel series will be animated.

The Alison series, as well as its follow-up Lilia and Trais by Keiichi Sigsawa (author) and Kohaku Kuroboshi (illustrator) will both be animated. Wagaya no Oinari-sama by Jin Shibamura (author) and Eizou Houden (illustrator) will also be adapted into an anime.

According to The Hochi Shimbun, 22-year-old idol/seiyuu/singer Shoko Nakagawa, also known as Shokotan, will appear on a new television program called Woogie Boogie in Japan, where she and her fans will collaborate on a 4-koma (four-panel comics) and and an anime.

ANN is reporting that Maki Minami's manga Special A, currently serialized in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume, will be adapted into an anime.

Riyoko Ikeda, creator of The Rose of Versailles (also known as Lady Oscar), will be making a manga adaptation of the Korean drama series Story of the First King's Four Gods, the new manga will start serialization in Kodansha's magazine Tokyo Isshoukan and Kansai Isshoukan on September 25th.

Heisei Democracy reports that the Queen's Blade series will be getting two manga adaptations, one in Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace (10/26) by Minasaki Iku, the other in MediaWorks' Dengeki Black Maoh (9/19) by Astroguy II.

Also, volume 6 of Young Animal Island (9/28) will contain a special feature on Kimikiss to promote the upcoming October airing of Kimikiss Pure Rouge.
