This growing trend of offering downloadable contents without license has raised concerns within the Chinese manga community over the future and growth of the manga community in China as a whole.

On May 13th, an "One Day Maid Cafe" appeared in Beijing's Dashanzi Art District, where this year's Dashanzi International Art Festival was held. The Chinese and Japanese maids greeted costumers with: "Welcome back, Master" and served coffee while kneeling.

According to an announcement made on its website, the popular bi-monthly Chinese Anime & Manga Digest XinGanXian: Comic & Ani Report will cease publication in May. While the website did not specify the reason behind the sudden cancellation, apparently the magazine can no longer use the name XinGanXian (means New Front in Chinese) due to some legal problems.
