imgYu Yu Journal's recent article on sexually explicit content in shoujo manga received a large number of replies from its readers. As a result, the site has published a follow-up article.

According to the article, many readers said the publishers need to be regulated; however, there were some who expressed that adult should also be more concerned about this problem.

A mother of three from Toyama city, who believes that a moral committee for children's magazine is needed, said:

"Children need to know more about the bright side of love, sex and human. We should be more concerned about passing on the right information to children so they grow up to be healthy adults.

ICv2 interviews Karen Berger, Senior Vice President of DC Comics, about DC's recently announced Minx imprint, its "new initiative, the audience it seeks to reach, and how it fits into the current context of comics for teen girls, which are primarily manga."

The Association of Copyright for Computer Software (ACCS) and the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) have released a report estimating the damage caused by the peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing program Winny to the Japanese entertainment industry.

A test was conducted on October 10th, where Winny activities were closely monitored during a 6-hour time period. According to the report, there are currently over 210,000 Winny users illegally pirating anime, manga, games, softwares and music, causing over 9.5 billion yen worth of damage to the Japanese entertainment industry.

Ogamiya Yokochou Tenmatsuki by Fukusuke Miyamoto will be adapted into an TV drama series. The first episode will premier on December 2nd. Haimiya Yokochou Tenmatsuki is currently serialized in Ichijinsha's Comic Zero-Sum.

Ivrea Publishing has announced an event to commemorate the 40th edition of the magazine Lazer, one of the most well-known publications on anime and manga in Argentina. The event, called "Night Lazer," will take place in Buenos Aires on December 7th. The event will only open to people who are over 18 years old. The Ivrea website promises anime, music and cosplay at the event.

Kadokawa Group Holdings has announced its plan to divide Kadokawa Shoten into three separate companies next January.

The three new companies are:

(New) Kadokawa Shoten - The "new" Kadokawa Shoten will take over the publishing and management of "cultural contents" from the "Old" Kadokawa Shoten.
Kadokawa Magazines - Kadokawa Magazines will handle magazine publishing.
Kadokawa Group Publishing - Kadokawa Group Publishing will become the support and supply side of publishing.

Kadokawa Herald Pictures will take over the management of the old Kadokawa's affiliate film business, and Kadokawa Group Holdings will take over Kadokawa's management section. According to Kadokawa Group Holdings, the split is a part of Kadokawa's strategy to specialize its publishing business.

Arc System Works will release a digitilized version of Mitsuteru Yokoyama's Romance of the Three Kingdoms manga Sangokushi (Yokoyama Mitsuteru Sangokushi) for the Nintendo DS in December. The manga will be released through the AS Networks, and will come with sound effects and mini games. This release is part of a series called "Gamics," which stands for "Game + Comic."
