The official website of Shonen Gahosha's new magazine, Monthly Young King, has opened at www.shonengahosha.jp/monthlyyk/. The first issue of the magazine will be released on October 19th.

Together with Shonen Gahosha's other magazine, bi-weekly Young King, there are now two Young King magazines, one bi-weekly and the other monthly.

Earlier this week JBC Publishing has released the Rurouni Kenshin novel titled Voyage to the Moon World (Samurai X - Crônicas de um Samurai na Era Meiji Volume 1 - Brazilian title). The story, inspired by Nobuhiro Watsuki's manga, was written by Kaoru Shizuka. The novel has 176 pages and costs $13.90 (approximately $6.50 USD).

Japan E-book Initiative (EBI), Kyocera Communication (KCCS), and Singapore Kyocera Communication Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (KCAP) announced last month a partnership to distribute manga digitally overseas starting 9/19. KCCS and KCAP will be responsible for financial matters, advertising, and customer service. EBI will be in charge the software and the content.

The second annual Akihabara Entamatsuri Festival will take place from Saturday, October 21st to Sunday, Octover 29th in Akihabara. The event will be hosted in conjunction with the 9-day Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) in an effort to draw more international attention to Japanese anime, manga, and videogames.

Many anime series will be shown at one particular event called "animecs T!FF in Akihabara," which will include series such as Mobile Suit Gundam, Ghost in the Shell - Solid State Society, Fist of the North Star Raoh Side Story Junai Arc film, and Neon Genesis Evangelion The End of Evangelion.

Details of the upcoming film version of Media Work's Shakugan no Shana, Kino no Tabi, and Inukami! will be announced on stage in AKIBA_SQUARE. Also, videogame fans will also be able to try out the new Playstation 3.

The popular light novel from MediaWorks, Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, will once again be adapted into a manga, this time drawn by Kasumi Kirino. Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan was originally a light novel (written by Masaki Okayu and illustrated by Torishimo) serialized in Dengeki HP, it was later adapted into an anime, a manga, and a PS2 game.

The popular light novel by Keisuke Hasegawa, Shinigami no Ballad, will be adapted into a live-action drama. According to MediaWorks, more details will be posted soon.

Panini Comics Brazil will be releasing Full Metal Panic! by Shoji Gatoh (original author); Shikidouji (original character design); Retsu Tateo (art) and Lodoss War (Lodoss War - Crônicas da Guerra de Lodoss) by Masato Natsumoto and Ryo Mizuno later this year. The format of each manga will be 13 x 18 cm, with approximately 200 pages.
